Dr. Wilner was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Sol and Selma Wilner in 1949. He earned a BA degree in 1972 from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and earned a MD degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1976. Dr. Wilner was a Flexible Intern at the Cambridge Hospital and certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1977 and by the American Board of Radiology in 1980. He served his radiology residency at the New England Medical Center & Affiliated Hospitals before being accepted to a Fellowship in Computed Tomography and Ultrasound at the Boston VA Medical Center in Massachusetts.
In 1981, Dr. Wilner became a staff radiologist with the Amesbury Health Center, the Boston Regional Medical Center, and the Anna Jaques Hospital, all in the Massachusetts area, and became a partner with NE Radiology Associates as well. In 1985, Dr. Wilner became the Chief Radiologist at Anna Jaques Hospital, returning to fill the role sporadically through the next few years. Dr. Wilner has contributed to professional journals, and was named 2012 Man of the Year by the American Biographical Institute. He has also been named to the 2010 list of the Leading Physicians of the World, and the 2009 to 2010 list of America’s Top Radiologists by the Consumers Research Council of America. He is the recipient of the 2010 Champion of Medicine award from American Solutions. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.
In addition to his professional accolades, Dr. Wilner is affiliated with the Physicians’ Council for Responsible Reform, the Massachusetts Radiological Society, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American College of Radiology. For dedication to the field of diagnostic medicine, Dr. Wilner was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, two volumes of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering in 2011 and 2016, as well as the 2011 to 2012 volume of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare. He has two children and two stepchildren.
